Description

Our client a successful Retail and Distribution business based in Leicester is looking to add a Temporary Assistant Accountant to their small friendly team.


The Role:

provide general financial support and analysis, ensure good financial control, maximise Group profitability and assume a significant role in all company reporting

Supporting the Group Financial Controller and the wider Finance Team by managing the sales ledger, processing sales invoices and reconciling transactional activity, responsible for reported gross margin, helping to prepare financial statements and performancereports, budgets and forecasts


Specific responsibilities:


  • Accurate and timely invoicing and reconciliation of all income streams
  • Preparation of variance analysis between income estimates and actuals
  • Responsible for reported gross margin and supporting all related procedures and processes (Sales, Purchases and Stock) journals and analysis
  • Preparation of other month end journals in accordance with monthly timetable and supporting other receivables and payables activity as required
  • Maintaining and reconciling petty cash expenses and checking staff expenses
  • Support or leading other tasks such as preparation of VAT returns, forecasts and budgets, preparing financial accounts, month end reporting, year end audit and year end accounts
  • Preparation of ad hoc commercial analysis as required by CFO or Group Financial Controller
  • Key member of finance team supporting
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

The Person:


  • Relevant Degree (desirable)
  • Studying for recognised financial qualification, CIMA or ACCA
  • Highly developed Excel Skills
  • Database / CRM knowledge
  • Enquiring mind
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise busy workload
  • Problem Solving and Continuous improvement mindset
  • Good communication skills

The Package:


  • Salary £25,000 £28,000
  • 3 month Temp role to start ASAP
  • Possibility of something longer term
