Equities IT - Cash Equities Application Support

As a Barclays Equities IT - Cash Equities Application Support, you will ensure the continued availability, effectiveness and accuracy of the strategic sales and trading platforms.

You will be based within the London Cash Equities Application Management team, on the trading floor.

You will also work within the problem and incident management framework, be proactive, have excellent communication skills as well as outstanding client facing skills and be able to prioritise issues and escalate where appropriate.

What will you be doing?:

Developing specialist knowledge in relevant systems, sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
Liaising with internal traders, operations, and other stakeholders on potential process improvements
Taking ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation, as appropriate
Improving the quality of systems and service, and increase business value
Undertaking projects as required including capacity and performance management and web based tools
Overseeing monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, reporting, documentation, audit and regulatory requests
Upholding and championing policies, procedures and standards

What we're looking for:

Experience working with relational databases (DB2, SQL Server and Oracle)
Experience in middleware technologies (ex. Tibco RV and Solace)
Knowledge of the Equities and genuine interest in financial markets

Skills that will help you in the role:

Experience in scripting (Bash /Perl/Python) skills and automation
Experience in supporting Cash Equities HighTouch function
Experience of supporting trading systems, preferably complex Cash Equities trading/risk systems

5 North Colonnade is home to our investment bank and is in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from our headquarters at Churchill Place.
