The Role


Due to our continued growth and development, we now have a fantastic opportunity to join the busy QA Team at our Sefter Farm site.


Reporting to the Factory Technical Supervisor, you will ensure assessment of all raw material arriving across Barfoots sites, against agreed standards before use.

You will contribute to the efficiency of the packing operation by effectively communicatingquality issues (delivered, processed and packed) across the business.

Also ensuring that the quality of packed product meets agreed customer specifications and that Barfoots Quality Management System (QMS), HACCP and Customer Code of Practice are operatingeffectively.


This is a shift based role: 4 days on/4days off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and follow all quality specifications, standards and systems
  • Check quality and temperature of all inbound raw material
  • Ensure that timely and accurate feedback is provided to our suppliers, production and procurement teams
  • Ensure that Food Safety standards are not compromised
  • Liaise with and influence production and procurement teams concerning suitability and priority use of raw material
  • Undertake routine instrument checks (probes, scales)
  • Undertake Daily Site and Internal Audits (including Glass and Plastic and GMP) when required
  • Follow up on corrective actions and verify that those have been completed satisfactorily
  • Complete traceability in response to customer complaints / rejections and when requested by other departments
  • Retain shelf life samples for each product and monitor as per shelf life procedure
  • Assist in implementation, drive and participation of Product Daily Quality Assessment (Taste Panel) by QA Department
  • Ensure all Micro and Pesticide samples are collected in timely manner
  • Participate in customer and supplier visits when necessary
  • Cover all positions within QA team roles in absence or when required
  • Other reasonable tasks requested by Factory Technical Supervisor

Requirements:


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Attention to detail
  • Effective and well developed communication skills
  • Good English Language skills
  • Problem analysis and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Understanding of FMCG or fresh food sector desirable
  • Controlling safe working practices
  • Understanding of internal and external customer service levels and quality requirements
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics
  • CIEH Level 2 Food Safety (preferred)

This is a permanent opportunity, with a 12 hour day shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off.
