About you
The important stuff (essential requirements)
- Experience of working in the environmental sector or in sustainability consulting
- Proficiency in managing projects from initiation to completion, using systems and tools available to ensure deliverables are on time and within budget
- Working knowledge of UK agriculture sector, or close equivalents production, supply chains, policy, etc
- Selfstarter and driven
- Demonstrable team leadership, line management experience
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Adept at both supporting colleagues and team working at all levels
- Excellent client relationship management abilities
- Organised and systematic approach to work
- Adaptability to turn hand to exploit new opportunities and to tackle unforeseen challenges that emerge
- Ability to engage with and work across a range of clientbased teams with different levels of technical understanding, perspectives and needs
- Experience and confidence in engaging with corporate clients with an ability to accommodate a range of different business cultures and perspectives
- Organised and systematic approach to work
- Clear and engaging writing style, excellent verbal communication and the ability to present complex information in a clientfriendly way
Other stuff (desirable skills)
- Mentoring and/or coaching experience
- Ability to develop training programmes and pathways for junior staff
- Passion for finding solutions to complex sustainability problems
- Experience of leading and managing multiple stakeholder, multiyear programmes of work
- Business development and proposalwriting experience
- Experience in agricultural systems outside the UK
- Experience working in urban and/or periurban green infrastructure
- Working knowledge of climate frameworks, guidance, and accounting in a food supply chain context
- Experience of planning and running effective multistakeholder workshops and meetings.
