Role Description

FNZ are looking for a Data Warehouse Team Lead to join our team. For this role, you will have commercial experience of designing and developing SQL Databases and Data Engineering Pipelines (ETL).


This position is located within the Global Head of Technology Department of FNZ and has responsibilities for the development, maintenance, and support of the companies Data Warehouse capability.

The role involves the developing, maintaining and supporting the SQL Databases, Informatica ETL processes and output MI.

Reporting to the Head of Data Services, you will work as an integral part of the team, analysing requirements, designing solutions managing a team and liaising with partners.


This role is primarily technical in nature and is focused on providing a long-term service so that internal and external users can create and maintain their own Management Information reports.


Specific Role Responsibilities- Design & development of SQL Data Warehouse and ETL routines.- Maintenance, Support & Performance Tuning of production SQL Queries and ETL routines.- Recommendations for improving Data Warehouse design.- General responsibility of service provision to all of FNZ.- Ensuring Data Warehouse is available for all recipients- Chair the Data working group meetings.- In addition, carry out a skills gap analysis to confirm the proposed data services strengths and weaknesses for the role, and document areas of development in a development plan for them.- Understand and deploy Data Governance principles such as Data Quality.


Experience- Demonstrable experience (3+ years) of developing and maintaining a SQL and ETL processes.- Relational database skills and Experience in Dimensional modelling, Star Schemas / Kimball- Knowledge of the Financial Services industry.- Skilled in SQL Server expected, skilled in Informatica and MS Azure desirable.- SQL Data Warehouse Developer experience and skilled in requirement gathering.- Familiar with Agile Methodology SQL Data Warehouse Developer- Knowledge of Data Management, Data Quality, Data security and other Data Governance practices.- Comfortable with liaising with stakeholders, to resolve issues, whilst also having a 'get up and go' attitude to work within a fast-paced dynamic environment.- Work to promote collaboration, technical excellence, and best practices within the data team- develop deep partnerships with various departments and stakeholders to execute on our various industry innovative projects- Oversee Extract Transform and lifecycle management to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions- Collaborate with business units to innovate and push boundaries with the latest technologies- Prioritise a vibrant work environment by building, developing, and mentoring the Data Engineering team- Comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders including senior management- Approachable and proactive in engaging with the business- Able to negotiate any differences of opinion and be prepared to make a decision or recommendation- Able to work on their own initiative and enjoy the responsibility of delivering outcomes- Highly organised yet flexible.- Ability to communicate effectively at a variety of levels within a regulated environment, both internally and externally, written and verbally.
