Description
The post holder has shared responsibility for the development, delivery, evaluation and continuous professional/ clinical development programmes for DCIS within RDASH, it will incorporate planning, developing and implementing projects and initiatives, with specific focus on patient and person centred care, grounded in life long learning and evidence based practice and set within national, organisational and directorate objectives, guidelines and policies

  • Lead in the creation of a clinical area that encourages practice development, audit practice and disseminate information on developments
  • Facilitate the creation of a positive learning environment where staff development is encouraged and supported
  • Work within the individual clinical units, and as a care group team of Practice Educators who will undertake a key role in practice development.
The post holder will be an identified educative lead for an identified team(s) facilitating:

  • Practice Development
  • Professional Development
  • Clinical Development
  • Working in partnership with the leadership teams within Home First Service

The post holder:


  • Will be expected to work / move between any of these specialist areas whilst
maintaining expertise within their specific field and would be required to develop and
update their knowledge as appropriate.

  • Will work to agreed objectives seeking advice and guidance from appropriate individuals when necessary.
  • In conjunction with team members, undertake critical analysis of research to inform and enable best practice.
  • Will develop and maintain a sound knowledge of curriculum development, educational and lifelong learning principles and their implementation in practice.
  • Will have responsibility in the implementation and evaluation for the delivery of core induction and continuous development programmes.
  • Will Deliver and facilitate learning through a wide range of methods which best suit individual and group learning needs and styles
  • Will undertake continuous robust evaluation of the multidisciplinary induction programmes development of content, delivery and outcomes. These are measure against organisational objectives and Care group Key Performance Indicators.
  • Will bring to the attention of their line manager any issues arising from the induction and
development programmes.
