Materials Planner - Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom - OSI Systems, Inc.
Description
Overview:
- This temporary role is to help maintain and manage the production / manufacturing schedules and procurement of 3rd party materials and services via MRP system.
- Create, control and maintain inventory levels for materials, direct consumables and made in house or purchased SKU.
Responsibilities:
- Generate Manufacturing Orders / Works orders via the MRP system for full systems and subsystem and parts as driven by Sales / the authorised business plan / SKU policy.
- Generate warehouse picklists & service/sales pick lists to support Works Orders and confirm material available to commence build in a timely and proactive basis including liaison with procurement and manufacturing functions to expedite supply and communicate potential shortages / risks.
- Ensure that all transactions are complete and timely from origination to closure (shipment) to affect "real time" visibility within the MRP System and programme plans.
- Report issues to Line Management and coordinate recovery action in the event of actual / potential risks to programme with responsible functions and in accordance with set escalation rules.
- Respond to queries / issues and review activities to drive continuous improvements to drive performance improvement and eliminate nonadded value activity utilising the appropriate TQM / Lean methodologies.
- Report performance of KPI.
- Provide data re impact of changes to Sales / authorised business plan / SKU policy (reduction, amendments or additions) to the relevant business decision making processes (impact re leadtimes, capacity, cost, other programmes)
- Ensure BOM data is maintained identifying source (made in house or purchased), process route and or leadtime to determine capacity plan re current and new requirements to support sales / shipment planning.
- Ensure Purchased items are identified and MRP master data secured with the Procurement function.
- Manage BOM / Engineering Changes re implementation point in collaboration with business management, engineering/design, manufacturing and procurement functions.
- Provide status re material availability against project timescales and update business system Master Data.
- Comply with functional Competency Matrix requirements for the role, engaging with development programmes as required to meet that profile as required by, agreed by line management.
Qualifications:
- Basic experience in Sales, Inventory and Operations planning, including but not limited to coordinating manufacturing and supply chain routings, subcontract works order management and engineering change management.
- Proven ability to work well with others at all organizational levels, to organize and prioritize, and to participate on crossfunctional teams.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP processes (ideally Navision)
