Description

We are looking for a new member of staff to join the team to provide 1:1 support to an SEN child.

The position is for 8 hours a week, Monday & Tuesday 11:00am - 2:45pm, term time only.
Are you patient and understanding with children with additional needs?

Have experience with children aged 3
Have additional skills such as workstation training or experience, Makaton experience, and a basic understanding of SEN concepts such as Now and Next
Be familiar with children with diagnoses of Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder and Aspergers
Have a creative and imaginative approach to developing children's learning experiences
Likes to have fun and get messy
Have experience in developing children's speech and language skills
Have the ability to engage and motivate children by adapting activities to suit their individual needs
Enthusiastic, flexible, resilient and committed to support children
Looking for a new opportunity to build on professional development
Have a fun personality with a great sense of humour

You will need to:

Support with interpersonal skills, such as changing nappies, toileting and washing hands
Support at mealtimes
Engage in messy play, creative activities and group activities such as circle time
Support within the garden to build on gross motor and fine motor skills
Adapting room activities to support children
Use approaches such as workstations, now and next and Attention Building activities
Teach new skills and support children to problem solve, as well as developing already embedded skills
Record 1:1 sessions within a communication book
