About the Role:


Haringey Youth Justice Service (YJS) is looking for a committed and experienced practitioner to carry a case load of Out of Court disposal and Turnaround (prevention) cases.


About the Team:


Haringey Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency service made up of youth justice social workers and support staff including police, health, probation, and education.

The aims and objectives of the service are to:

  • Prevent offending and re-offending for children and young people aged between 10 and 17 years.
  • Encourage and inspire children and young people to help them maximise their potential and become responsible members of the community.
  • Ensure we have a childfirst approach, which means we are putting children and young people at the heart of what we do to ensure they have the right support and influence our service delivery and decision making.

About You:


  • Evidence of continuing professional development aligned to any relevant Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements.
  • Deep and up to date knowledge and understanding of youth justice, children's and other relevant legislation, regulation, and guidance.
  • Experience of chairing meetings involving young people, family members and/or carers and other multiagency professionals.
  • Developing strong relationships with partners, other agencies, and the local community to achieve joint objectives and offer a supportive framework for young people.
  • Proven track record of clear decision making with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
