This post is to cover maternity leave for 12 months from February 2023 to February 2024 working with the inpatient rehabilitation team in Wrexham Maelor Hospital.


The post holder will work with a large and experienced inpatient rehabilitation team, providing informal and formal supervision and development opportunities.


The post holder will work independently under the direction of a physiotherapist/occupational therapist to support an efficient day-to-day running of the therapy service by providing highly skilled support work.

To contribute to the general running of the therapy service.


The post holder will work under direction of a qualified therapist but in an unsupervised capacity to assist in the overall clinical and administrative management of patients.

To deliver routine therapeutic treatment programmes independently and progress treatments within guidelines and protocols. To be accountable for these tasks.

To participate in training of self and others to update and assist in service changes within designated area.

Flexible approach to work and be prepared to work in other areas depending on service needs

  • Assist the qualified occupational therapist or physiotherapist in the overall management of patients therapy needs in collaboration with carers, support workers, health staff and agencies.
  • Under the direction and guidance of the qualified occupational therapist or physiotherapist, to manage and be responsible for their own clinical caseload of clients, following therapeutic programmes in order to improve their physical abilities and to minimise disabilities.
  • Work independently using own initiative, within level of competence.
  • Work in a variety of settings that may include hospital units or patients own homes.
This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
