Transport Booking Assistant - Shropshire

Salary:

11.81 Per Hour

Full Time:
Monday to Friday - 09:00am to 17:00pm


Roel Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to demand responsive transport (DRT) team leader who is in turn responsible for the post holder's health and safety, training and development.
  • Responsible for the administration of flexible transport central bookings system that allows customers to book their journeys over the telephone.
  • A key role in customer relations, ensuring a smooth booking experience for the customer and follow up liaison to understand and record passenger satisfaction, enabling us to learn from customer experiences.
  • Expected to contribute to a range of projects and build relations with both internal and external partners to achieve specified outcomes but will not have direct authority over those involved.
  • Processing bookings using our online operating systems in accordance with procedures.
  • Being the main point of contact for customers looking to book journeys or enquire about the service, providing advice on journey planning, ticket options and booking time slots.
  • Liaising and coordinating with onsite staff such as DRT team leader, our client's fleet department and drivers to ensure bookings are completed and enquires are answered.
  • Processing payments over the telephone or registering concessionary travel cards from passengers ensuring their card covers the payment before travel.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to feedback, comments and complaints relating to the flexible transport service.
  • Follow up communications with passengers who use the service, whether they have booked over the telephone or via online APP to ensure that customers remain satisfied with the service.
  • Assist in the promotion of the service when required, attending roadshows or customer focused advertising campaigns to increase passenger numbers and answer any concerns or apprehensions customers may have before booking.
  • To log reports of damaged bus shelters, bus stop flags, advertising cases and Perspex covers within the defined operating zones to the relevant departments, following up to ensure completion.
  • Assist with postal marketing campaigns and surveys, ensuring all relevant details are recorded and acknowledged when required.
  • Actively take part in implementing, maintaining, and improving the department's computer systems and processes required to meet the demands of the new technology.
  • To provide general administrative support to management to enable an effective and efficient service to be maintained including minutes of meetings.
  • Support the department by suggesting options or costeffective solutions relating to marketing and public awareness.
  • Monitor upcoming planned road closures and ensure information is passed to relevant managers, drivers and other associated parties.
  • To positively contribute to the development and maintenance of effective partnership arrangements with and across departments and with external organisations to deliver high quality transport facilities.
  • Manage sensitively and professionally the needs and problems of those requiring transport.
  • Manage and maintain effective working relationships with all client's, best meeting our clients policies.
