The Role:

A position with responsibility for increasing the shipment volumes and operational financial performance of the London, UK Branch.


Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the daily activity of a successful, and profitable Commercial team
  • Manage and complete quotations both internally & externally on a daily basis, and in accordance with monthly / annual targets for all modes Air / Sea / Road
  • Actively develop existing and new business with support from the business development teams and operational leads
  • Research potential new customers through various channels, and provide leads to Inside Sales/BDM, with support and direction from Commercial Manager
  • Assist with establishing new suppliers and arranging supplier meetings
  • Arrange virtual meetings with your customers, and ensure customer volume & GP development
  • Demonstrate business growth through successfully sourcing & converting opportunities
  • Contribute to a dynamic and competitive team culture within the department

  • Provide seamless communication from Commercial to Operations teams handing over completed quotation and booking with clear instruction and no ambiguity or room for error
  • Ensure that excellent relationships are nurtured and maintained with fellow colleagues both at local branch level, regionally & globally including Managers, Directors and Support Services within the company
  • Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the Regional Manager or Operations Director

  • Maintain awareness of forwarding and logistics markets
- including, key customers and competition in your area/region

  • Help to deliver an excellent customer experience that is consistent across the Branch
  • Be proactive in your communication/relationship building with customers
  • Leverage the companys unique products and verticals to create new opportunities
  • Optimise every opportunity to help the customer and expand our business
  • Understand client requirements, find creative solutions
  • Be proactive when faced with challenges and use the full support from within the company
  • Understand client(s) buying processes and move opportunities forward to win new business

Process:


  • Ensure that our technology platforms are used to create/maintain highly efficient processes
  • Maintain up to date and accurate CRM recording
  • Ensure compliance with existing Quality systems (AEO, ISO etc)
  • Ensure that successful supplier relationships are in place, reviewed regularly and shared across the business
  • Ensure all enquiries are handled in accordance with the Company's Operating Procedures
  • Have robust and sustainable supplier relationships
  • Contribute positively to group initiatives and activities including but not limited to Product Developments; Margin Management; Growth Levers and Transformation projects

Profitability:


  • Increase efficiency & effectiveness
  • Improve financial results on GP per file
  • Work to expand our presence and ensure the business is a perceived as a key forwarder within the market
  • Be aware of potential customers and look for opportunities to develop the business
  • Work closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth outcomes to deadlines
  • Communicate wins & losses with team Manager to continually review and adjust trade lanes, routes and solutions

Finance:


  • Work with the Finance Team to ensure all new business is credit checked, set up and onboarded successfully
  • Maintain a program of Supplier Review meetings utilizing the shared purchasing opportunities for the region and ensuring good relations, escalation and financial terms
  • Ensure that local auditory and government requirements are met
