Kirk Sandall Infant and Junior Schools are looking to appoint an Executive Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Inclusion and Special Education Needs and Disabilities.

This is an exciting new role for an ambitious leader with the right skills and experience to ensure that SEND provision across both of our schools is outstanding, so all children achieve the best possible outcomes.


Working closely with the Executive Headteacher and both schools' Senior Leadership Teams, you will lead and co-ordinate a team of skilled professionals with expertise and experience within SEND and Inclusion who strive to deliver high quality outcomes and experiences for all pupils.

This strategic leadership opportunity is open to experienced qualified teachers with a minimum of 2 years' experience as a SENDCo, who can evidence a sound understanding of SEND and the processes to secure appropriate and ambitious provision for all children, despite their barriers to learning.


Kirk Sandall Infant School (3-7) and Kirk Sandall Junior School schools are adjacent to each other, in in the heart of our local community.

Despite being separate schools, we share a large number of families and are increasingly working more closely together to ensure better outcomes for all.


We are a proud member of the Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Multi-Academy Trust and we have a friendly and supportive Local Governing Body.

We are looking for an Assistant Head who will:
 Inspire and develop others to be champions of SEND pupils
 Strive to develop outstanding Inclusion and SEND provision across both schools.
 Advocate confidently for our young people and their families
 Have proven experience of leading highly effective Inclusion and SEND provision at a whole school level
 Approach data strategically, analytically and diagnostically, identifying SEND needs and clear next steps
 Provide appropriate support and challenge to each school's SENDCo
 Be time efficient in the early identification of SEND needs and actioning appropriate support and provision.
 Be an excellent classroom teacher, modelling inclusive practice
 Be highly motivated and ready to embrace a whole school leadership role, working closely with the strategic leadership team
 Be a supportive, flexible team member who develops excellent relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues
