Payroll Clerk


Location:
Colne, Lancashire


Salary:
up to £30,000 per annum

Tailor Made are excited to be recruiting for a well-established leading manufacturing company in Lancashire. They are seeking a Payroll Clerk to join their growing team.


You will be responsible for leading the maintenance, enhancement and implementation of the current and future payroll systems as well as resolving any payroll issues that may arise.

The main responsibilities include the day-to-day operation of the payroll. You will have experience processing payroll and retail bonus' and commission.


The Role:


  • Responsible for calculating the corresponding payment for all hourly employees and prepares the payroll reporting
  • Identifying and resolving the root cause of production issues with the Payroll and Timekeeping Systems
  • Suggest specifications and liaise with programmers to improve the systems where relevant
  • Perform system testing, oversee data conversion and implementation of new systems and interfaces with other systems and locations
  • Develop and maintain all necessary training plans and materials related to systems conversions or upgrades
  • Develop, update, and modify tables and reports as needed
  • Maintain systems to ensure efficient operations, processing, and report generation
  • Generate routine reports,, and provide ad hoc reporting support
  • Work toward performing regular audits to ensure policies and procedures are being followed, and provide direction when necessary

About You:


  • 4 years' experience within Payroll
  • Knowledge of UK pay regulations
  • Experience in processing payroll and bonus' and commission
  • Understanding of accounting technical processes
  • Good Excel skills i.e. Pivot tables, V Lookups etc.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to stringent deadlines
  • Ability to build good relationships, with both internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to prioritise workload, good organisational skills and a flexible approach
