The Governors of Whittle-le-Woods CE Primary are seeking to appoint two Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join our successful team.

Previous post holders have moved on to teaching positions.

Teaching Assistants in our school are respected and valued professionals. A number of Teaching Assistants have gone on to train to be teachers and many are existing qualified teachers.

You will assist in the planning, delivery, evaluation and adaptation of the curriculum and will work mainly across two year groups, but flexibly work with other classes.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with QTS to gain additional classroom experience and school based knowledge or a teacher who does not want full class teacher responsibility but loves working with children.

Additional hours would be available in our before school and after school provision and we would allocate these as required/desired.

Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher you will:

  • Plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher
  • Deliver whole class cover supervision as required
  • Establish supportive and constructive relationships with pupils
  • In addition, the role will include first aid, gate and playground duties on a rota basis.
  • Be committed to upholding our school Christian values and living out our Vision Statement.
  • Be instrumental in supporting learning and development of children.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with the children, class teacher and families.
  • Enhance the learning opportunities for the children.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure continuity of learning and quality first teaching.
  • Be committed to whole school life and be willing to support extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding pupil welfare and wellbeing.
