Avencia consulting is partnered with a leading provider of global re/insurance products.

In an exciting time for change for their model development team, we are seeking a Senior Actuary to take the lead on projects regarding reinsurance pricing models.


The role


To actively achieve solutions for complex technical challenges by leading the development, enhancements, maintenance, through the interaction with external model vendors as appropriate, and ensuring corporate governance standards of Reinsurance Pricing Modelsare met, with the goal of implementing activities or approaches that meet actuarial standards and support achieving plan loss ratios and profitability.


Key accountabilities

  • Champions and drives the use of actuarial rating methodologies, data quality, data manipulation, modelling and model governance to demonstrate accuracy and efficiency
  • Manages interactions and participation in company wide initiatives to raise the profile of the group actuarial function to include modelling, portfolio reporting, analytics, and data management
  • Creates and cascades robust and appropriately robust strategic deliverables applicable to the project
  • Is accountable for ensuring that appropriate analytical techniques and model development are being fully utilised within the actuarial function
  • Help to manage the expectations of stakeholders regarding timelines and prioritisation about the options available; look for ways to mitigate
  • Elevate actuarial talent to develop and enhance both technical (e.g. data analysis and critical judgement) and nontechnical (relationship management) skills of actuarial analysts
