The role

What you'll do
Key responsibilities in this role will include (but are not be limited to):

  • Lead the design and implementation of procedures, policies, and guidance that ensures that the organisation has an effective, holistic data privacy policy and that its systems and processes comply with all relevant privacy and data protection laws and regulations,and internal policies.
  • Maintain appropriate records to demonstrate the principle of accountability under Data Protection legislation.
  • Engage with other business functions to undertake Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments, Legitimate Interest Assessments, Transfer Impact Assessments and other reviews as required.
  • Maintain an Issue/Risk log, with recommendations and mitigations.
  • Periodically review and update internal and external Privacy Notices to ensure they are consistent with the internal processing of personal data.
  • Foster data protection awareness and accountability among employees and communicate personal data protection policies to stakeholders.
  • Work with the company's developers to implement and oversee a 'Privacy by Design" approach.
  • Work with the internal Security and Privacy Relationship managers to provide input into key discussions with future customers and metrics on how privacy is being implemented by the company
  • Support other business functions with data privacy matters including customer engagements, and onboarding/offboarding of subprocessors and vendors.
  • Review Data Processing and Data Transfer Agreements.
  • Support the DPO with external data privacy audits.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer as required.

What you'll need

  • Expert knowledge of GDPR and other privacy laws, regulations and policy in all major jurisdictions where the company operates or affects our clients
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional CIPP/E
  • Solutionfocused, pragmatic and able to draft key documents when involved in internal initiatives, projects, rollouts, etc., rather than simply advisory
  • Experience working in regulated environments/banking and/or a FinTech
  • Excellent communication and team engagement skills
