WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

A senior leader responsible for all portfolio planning investment and strategy across Santander UK. The leader will be responsible for all investment across multiple transformation projects aligning to strategic transformation plans.


The role holder will be responsible for managing the investment and return on investment through detailed Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and for ensuring a successful handover of benefit realisation into BAU.

In addition, the role will be responsible for managing the relationship with key stakeholders, including Board and Exco members.


This role will work alongside the Head of Strategic Workforce Planning and Data Engineering to ensure the programme is adequately resourced including internal resource, FTCs, contractors, and consultants, plus management of third parties' engagements.


The difference you'll make.

  • Validating key results and attributable fiscal benefit from transformation projects through core analysis and linking to our financial commitments and overarching strategic intent.
  • Building and validation of all commercial dashboards that incorporates key results aligned to Santander UK Strategic priorities and responsible for reporting to ExCo and Board on this validation and output.
  • Producing executive reports and papers to demonstrate progress and performance against OKRs and the financial benefit realisation through cost savings and revenue generation and flags any risks in achieving key results and recommends interventions.
  • Using project management experience and knowledge to manage the timely delivery of projects across the business areas within the workstreams, with accurate reporting on status, scope and budget, and detailed dependency management.
  • Making a difference through how we attribute investment through changes to policy / processes including escalating information on emerging trends, alongside mitigating actions.
  • Influencing and supporting others to ensure compliance/risk requirements are met where appropriate.

What you'll bring.

  • Previous experience in a senior PMO/project management/finance role with an ability to interpret multiple data sources, mine data, create presentations and deliver to senior Stakeholders.
  • Experience of refining data from multiple sources and detailed analysis to tell a story and support Exco in reaching strategic decisions with strong commercial acumen with a focus on developing and implementing strategic scorecards that are driven through transformation activity.

It would also be nice for you to have.

  • Commercially astute with a sharp focus on operational costs and delivering key commercial metrics (return on Investment), they will actively identify deliverable opportunities.
  • Strong project management and or workforce management skills that allow holistic portfolio planning to be completed.
  • Conducts rigorous analysis of potential solutions to ensure proposals are realistic, deliver OKRs and the attributable defined benefits.
  • Be a selfstarter with problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility at all levels coupled with sound stakeholder engagement.

What else you need to know.
This is a full time permanent role, location can be flexible with regular weekly travel to a Santander office.
