Total Control Pro is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Software Tester Apprentice to join their growing team based in Northampton.


Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Collaborate with experienced software developers and engineers to understand testing methodologies and processes.
  • Execute test cases and identify software defects to ensure highquality products.
  • Participate in test planning, design, and strategy discussions.
  • Learn to use testing tools and contribute to test automation efforts.
  • Provide clear and concise reports on testing results to the development team.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure seamless integration of software components.

Qualifications:


  • 5 GCSEs grades A*C/94 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:


  • Basic understanding of software development concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Evidence of coursework or selflearning in software development or testing is advantageous.

Personal qualities:


  • Confidence.
  • Strong motivation.
  • Organised, good timekeeping, attention to detail.
  • An ability and desire to learn new skills quickly.
  • Genuine passion for technology and desire to build a career in this area.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Software Tester, with training in how to:

  • Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
  • Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose.
  • Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Document and report test results.
  • Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.
