Working on behalf of a specialist marine insurance broker based in the heart of the city, they are looking for a Technician Broker with a minimum of 3 years' experience.


Salary is open dependent upon experience; they are also happy to speak with individuals from different insurance disciplines who have the relevant technical knowledge.

Immediate start available - salary from 45-65K

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of all technical documentation; MRC Slips and MRCE,
  • Endorsements, invoicing of Premiums & Bordereau, Credit/Debit notes and submission to Xchanging via IMR.
  • Premium signings and dealing with Xchanging.
  • Servicing client accounts, understanding client's business and needs by gathering information from your clients, assessing their insurance needs and risk profile, managing their technical needs and be confident enough to liaise and keep up with the demandsof clients and underwriters.
  • Monitoring and Actioning Bureau Held Funds and Monthly KPI's
  • Preparation of Slips and Underwriting information for broking purposes
  • Preparation of cover notes, premium, Contract Load Up & all relevant documentation
  • Assist with the placing of business as required
  • Liaison with clients and markets as necessary
  • Maintenance of placing files
  • Assist in controlling premiums, commissions, allocating cashes, chasing bad debts, Collecting insurance premiums & other monetary functions
  • Adhere to company and regulatory policies, procedures together with mandatory training requirements
  • Adhere to financial reporting requirements including monthly phasing of income
  • Building and maintaining business relationships with clients, Scheduling and attending meetings
  • Researching insurance policies and products
  • Negotiating policy terms and costs with insurance providers
  • Arranging insurance cover for clients with the insurance provider
  • Preparing reports for insurance underwriters
  • Advising clients on making claims on their policies
  • Renewing or amending existing policies for clients
  • Ensure clients understand the terms and the extend of cover provided in line with industry regulations
  • Present risks to market in most advantageous terms.
  • Keep detailed records and complete administrative tasks such as paperwork and correspondence
  • Identify new risks and opportunities.
  • Negotiate and liaise with underwriters in placing risks.
  • Build relationships with clients, underwriters, surveyors and other professionals
  • Keep up with changes in the insurance market and in your clients' industries
  • Contribute to PDP and identify training needs.
  • Undertake appropriate learning and CPD as required for current/future job roles.
