Food Experience Host - Permanent position

37.5hrs per week, Monday - Friday

Role Purpose:


  • Being an experience host is all about exhibiting your knowledge and skills by delivering live experiences and demonstrations in front of our customers. You will be a natural performer with flair and enjoy being the centre of attention. You will engage with our customers through conversation as you setup and prepare live food and drink experiences around the campus for them to enjoy. Your role will see you be part mixologist, barista, popup server, room host and so much more You are as passionate about the service and experiences that you deliver as you are about awesome food and drink.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the food and drink offer is the first choice for our customers when they are seeking refreshment and fuel
  • Receive, process, prepare and deliver food and drink orders and experiences
  • Keep the service and back of house areas in a clean and safe condition
  • Deliver an experience, more so than just a service. Be an entertainer
  • Stay on top of trends and discuss these with your manager
  • Know the offer inside out, and be able to make informed recommendations to our clients
  • Preempt the needs of our customers and create meaningful and memorable service moments
  • Maintain a high profile front of house and be aware of what's happening during service, and effectively resolve any challenges ensuring colleague and customer satisfaction at all times
  • Keep our colleagues and the Barclays colleagues, visitors' and clients safe with our safetyfirst mentality while they are in our care, using the safety tools available to you
  • Oversee the standard and quality of all food & drink; you and the service team will serve as the final quality check for everything that is served and delivered to our customers. If it isn't right, we change it
  • Keep your ear close to the ground Tell us what the customer wants and how we keep our clients happy and coming back. Shout about your successes
  • To support the management team to be audit ready at all times and achieve the highest possible standard, eg finance, HS, FS, internal inspections, etc
  • To drive a 'One Team' Culture, provision of an integrated service

Health & Food Safety:


  • Act as a food safety and health & safety champion at all times, ensuring compliance as required
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all risks. Support the proactive completion of corrective action plans emanating from site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
  • Report to your line manager any risks, hazards and PPE shortfalls
  • Ensure that you are following recipes as required, to protect customers at all times including those with allergies
  • Carry out checks to ensure compliance on all labelling (FOH and BOH) and menus

Financial:


  • Provide input/support to identify sales growth and cost saving initiatives to work towards financial targets
  • Following recipes as required, and/or reporting any challenges
  • Carry out regular stock checks and other financial control procedures as required

Infrequent Duties:


  • Deputise in the absence of supervisory positions
  • Assist at any special duties or functions which may fall outside of normal working hours
  • Attend things such as; courses and training sessions, competitions, trade shows, competitor reviews, as and when required
  • Relieve and assist in other areas within the unit or other establishments as required

Skills, Experience and Attributes:


  • SCA Brewing or Sensory Professional qualifications desirable
  • 2 years' experience in a range of premium high end food and drink destinations
  • Must be able to identify and resolve issues and challenges to meet and exceed the expectations of our client
