Oversee and manage communications that are tailored to the needs of the audience and are developed through a programme of detailed audience engagement.2.

Develop a wide range of supplementary mechanisms for engaging donors, supporters, local people and service users that is sensitive to the needs of diverse local communities and makes good use of existing structures.3.

Support multi-level engagement with all Mersey Care communities.4.

Promote local recognition and support for Mersey Cares through effective communication of key messages, aims and achievements to local people.5.


Draft regular press releases, quotes, letters to editors and other articles for publication to the full range of media outlets including national, local and regional TV, radio, print and digital.10.

Work with the team to establish a strong social media presence among a variety of audiences (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.).11.

Develop Mersey Cares image library and video content.12.

Work with local partners to maximize the use of existing channels, including newsletters and cascade briefings, as well as new innovations, to reach professionals.13.

To gather monthly media evaluation reports for the Charity media coverage.14. To research and contribute to the Trusts intranet, internal newsletter and magazine and other internal communications material for staff. To arrange appropriate photography, co-ordinate design and print.15. To act as a first point of call, arrange and support all filming requests, as required.16.

To respond quickly, accurately and positively to staff enquiries.

This includes monitoring calls, developing feedback mechanisms and reporting back to the Senior Charity Fundraising Manager and Marketing issues with suggestions and opportunities on how these may be addressed.17.

To monitor digital presence and respond to online enquiries.18. Utilise audience segmentation and targeted marketing to ensure the correct information is going to the right people.19.


Assist in the development and maintenance of the charity website, incorporating innovative design and technologies to meet the current and future communication, marketing and information management needs of the trust and its members and customers.20.

Ensure websites and platforms are correctly branded.21. Undertakes regular and ad-hoc analyses of Web Traffic information and reports these in an appropriate and effective manner.22. Is required to add, amend and delete content from the charity website and platforms as appropriate.23.

Is required to generate media and narrative content for charity web portfolio utilising their strong writing and editing skills.24.

Work with the team to ensure we are providing regular and informative updates to service users, stakeholders, funding bodies etc.25.

Support and develop sustainable relationships with communications partners.26. Ensure a full media contacts list is accurately recorded and kept updated.27.

To provide general communications support to the wider team as required.28. Manage a busy workload and ensure appropriate prioritisation of projects and activities to meet a range of deadlines.29. Work with colleagues to ensure the office systems are effective and run smoothly and that resources are deployed efficiently.30. Cost and commission work from external suppliers to support planned projects or campaigns.31.

To monitor set budgets, manage resources carefully and feedback as appropriate to the budget holder.32.

To manage resources carefully with due regard for the way any monies are being spent, ensuring value for money in all activity.33.

Ensure at all times that use of resources represent value for money and are properly accounted for.34. As requested by the Senior Charity Fundraising Manager, attend certain departmental meetings and events as representatives of communications.35.

Contribute to the communication team objectives. PERSONAL & PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT36. Take every reasonable opportunity to maintain and improve professional knowledge.37.

To take responsibility for own professional development, working with your line manager to identify appropriate learning needs and to produce a professional development plan.38.
