Ranked in the top 150 universities in the world, we are home to over 29,000 students from over 140 countries, delivering teaching and learning of the highest quality and world-leading research focussed on addressing major global societal challenges.

We continue to play a leading role in the economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England, and aim to work collaboratively with our many external partners to shape brighter futures, grow the economy and champion social justice.

We are values-led and committed to equality, diversity, inclusion, social and environmental justice, and academic freedom. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.

We are now seeking an exceptional Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education (PVC E) to shape the evolution of our Education strategy and lead initiatives which will deliver transformational change in education and student experience across our three campuses in Newcastle, Malaysia and Singapore.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education will be an inspiring and inclusive leader, with an international reputation in research or scholarship in their academic field, and a deep understanding of the dynamic global Higher Education landscape.

They will have the experience to lead change and empower teams across our academic units, faculties and professional services, and a strong commitment to working in partnership with our students in pursuit of our ambition to be recognised globally for excellence in education, student experience and graduate outcomes.

Newcastle University is a global University where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

As a University of Sanctuary, we aim to provide a welcoming place of safety for all, offering opportunities to people fleeing violence and persecution.

At Newcastle University we hold a silver Athena SWAN award in recognition of our good employment practices for the advancement of gender equality.

We also hold a Race Equality Charter Bronze award in recognition of our work towards tackling race inequality in higher education REC.

In addition we are a member of the Euraxess initiative supporting researchers in Europe.
