Lambeth Public Protection Service are offering an opportunity to be part of a new highly visible, flexible, dedicated Public Protection Parks team.

Your focus will be on planning and delivering daily operational responsibilities, providing advice, guidance, and assistance to park users.

The team will challenge and proactively respond to incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour, Violence Against Women and Girls and Serious Violence which may take place in borough parks, commons, and open public spaces within Lambeth.


We are looking for a skilled individual to carry out engagement /enforcement activities, ensuring compliance with the statutory provisions outlined within relevant legislation in line with the 4e's approach (Engage, Explain, Encourage, Enforce).

The service will liaise extensively with the Parks Management Team, Elected Members, Business Improvement Districts, Community Organisations, local Stakeholders, and other Council Partners.

The services will deliver effective engagement, enforcement and identify the best approaches for specific local neighbourhood needs.

You will carry out investigations and proactively contribute to the delivery of relevant statutory provisions, responding to a wide range of byelaw offences which may have a negative impact on public enjoyment of parks and greenspaces.


You will be required to work flexibly, be solution focused, undertake delegated and daily duties and responsibilities aligned with the post and as directed by the Public Protection Parks Principal Officer.

You should be prepared to work outside of normal hours, including evening operations and occasionally weekend working.


About the role
This role is available as a fixed term contract or secondment opportunity.

This role requires effective engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, including safeguarding victims, interaction with alleged perpetrators, internal council departments, contracted service providers, and developers.

The role will also involve extensive engagement with Lambeth's residents to reduce ASB concerns, developing mutually beneficial opportunities for co-designing the delivery of high-quality response services.


The post holder will be professional and have excellent communication skills, skilled at influencing others to improve standards, have experience in conflict management and be confident in working alone or as part of a team.

Responsible for maintaining accurately updating various data base and service systems and administrative duties associated with the role.

A knowledge of relevant Community Safety information sharing practice's, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Licensing Act 2003, London Local Authority Act 1980, and Lambeth Park Byelaws is desirable but not mandatory as specialist training will be provided.
