Join us as a Payment Consultant

  • We're looking for a customer focused sales professional to join us at Tyl by NatWest, to provide telephonybased support to our SME customers
  • You'll be providing products and services to help your customers with their business needs as well as generating new business

  • This hybrid role will involve working two set days per week in our Birmingham office, with the flexibility to work from the office more frequently during training

What you'll do:


As a Payment Consultant, you'll work with business customers over the telephone, to deliver key income and service results, ensuring consistent adherence to regulatory, operational, and key control processes.

You'll help SME customers to reach their business ambitions by identifying the appropriate product and service options to support them in taking card payments.


Day-to-day, you'll be:

  • Delivering against productivity, income and lead targets
  • Owning the customer onboarding journey ensuring it is delivered right first time
  • Utilising marketing materials to proactively contact customers to offer additional benefits
  • Owning and responding to customer queries and complaints efficiently and effectively
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the bank to deliver the right bespoke solutions for customers' needs

The skills you'll need:


In order to excel in this role, you'll need experience of delivering outstanding customer service via sales, by anticipating customer needs and exceeding their expectations.

You'll also need experience of credit stewardship as well as a proven ability to manage risk to ensure the bank's regulatory, operational and control processes are followed consistently.


You'll also demonstrate:

  • A proven track record in sales
  • A good understanding of the SME business market
  • Experience of working in a telephony environment
  • An indepth knowledge of banking processes and products
  • An understanding of the specific triggers that identify customers' needs
