We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our exceptional Careers and Enterprise team as
Careers Programme Coordinator.

You will play a key role in developing strong relationships with employers, helping Birkbeck students and graduates discover valuable roles and secure opportunities with organisations.


Salary:
£36,374 - £41,348 per annum. This is a fixed-term contract for one year from January January 2025. Full time (35 hours per week with occasional weekends and evenings).

Birkbeck's Careers & Enterprise team supports our diverse student cohort through bespoke programmes tailored for our students' needs.

We are in an exciting period of development, with two new credit bearing career modules being offered to students for the first time, and you will be part of our ongoing success to continue to grow and innovate our service.


You will be an integral part of the development of our micro-placement offering, which sits across a range of programmes including our Digital Careers Programme, Ability Programme, as well as our dedicated micro-placement module this year.


You will have demonstrable experience building relationships with employers, as well as supporting a wide range of individuals from various backgrounds.

You will be working with a diverse student body providing them with support during their placement journey and helping them to achieve their career goals.


You will be a relationship builder, forging connections with employers and industry experts to encourage them to host micro placements and engage with exceptional Birkbeck student talent.

You will be a proven communicator, listener, and collaborative team player.

To be successful in this role you will also have excellent time management, organisational and interpersonal skills, along with a pro-active approach to creative problem solving, and the ability to work independently.


This role is varied and will give you the opportunity to develop and stretch your skills and experience so you will be committed to ongoing learning and professional development, this includes staying up to date with industry trends and best practice and contributing to the development of the service and shaping the movement of the University.

Birkbeck Careers and Enterprise ensures students are supported throughout their time at Birkbeck whether it is through facilitating their first step into employment, career change, progression to senior management or starting their own business.


We are part of Student Services within Registry, which combines a range of support services - Student Advice Service, Wellbeing Services (Counselling, Disability & Dyslexia and Mental Health Advisory Services) and Birkbeck Careers & Enterprise.
