Full time
Description
A wonderful live in Nanny role has become available in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The family enjoy spending time outdoors, as well as being active and sporty. They are looking for an experienced, kind, friendly nanny who can stay long term and join their happy family. You will have your own double bedroom, sharing the children's bathroom.

In this position, you will be caring for two children (a little boy, aged three years and his sister aged ten months).

Mum and Dad both work from home occasionally, so this will be a mixture of shared care and sole charge.

The hours of work will be quite flexible, but the days will be agreed in advance.

Two Days
Three Days
Plus overnight monitor responsibility

Although the children generally sleep through the night, Mum would like to know that someone is on hand should they wake for any reason.

The little boy attends nursery five days a week, so during the day your main focus will be the little girl.

However, help with nursery runs would be appreciated.

Flexibility in this role is a must.

When Mum has some free time, sometimes she will leave both children with you and go off to do her own thing.

Other times, she will take just one child to gain quality time with each of them. There may also be times when you all do something together.

The parents are keen for their children to learn and develop in a balanced way, to help them to hit their various developmental milestones - with lots of stimulating indoor fun (imaginary games, reading, singing songs, jigsaws, craft, etc) mixed with plenty of outside play and walks to the park.

As the baby get older, the parents would like her to attend play dates, groups and soft play to allow her to mix with other children, ensuring that she is happy and safe at all times.

As they employ a live in housekeeper, this role will be nursery duties only.

Some help to keep the house running smoothly between cleans would be appreciated - emptying the dishwasher, making sure all rooms are tidy at the end of the day, etc.

As well as general care of the children, keeping all areas the children use clean and tidy (kitchen, bedrooms, children's bathroom, playroom, etc), the nursery duties are to include keeping on top of the children's laundry.

You should be a confident cook, able to provide the children with healthy meals and snacks each day (home cooked from scratch as often as possible).

Batch cooking, with plenty made in advance and frozen for the parents to use for the children at the weekends, would be appreciated.

Although not essential, it would be advantageous if you are a driver, have a clean licence along with your own fully insured car.

Duty mileage will be paid at the current government rate. There is a family car which you would be welcome to use during the day if it is free.

This is a wonderful role and would suit someone who is happy to make a long-term commitment.
