As advanced Scaffolder you will be able to demonstrate all key duties and responsibilities of a Basic Scaffolder plus have knowledge of:

  • The relevant British Standards, Codes of Practice and statutory regulations applicable to the correct and safe erection and dismantling of scaffolds.
  • The correct and safe method of erecting and dismantling drop scaffolding off steelwork.
  • The correct and safe method for the erection and dismantling of cantilever drop scaffolds. Including overturning moments, safety factors, counterbalance etc.
  • The correct and safe method for the erection and dismantling of shoring structures.
  • The safe and correct method of erecting and dismantling Temporary Roof Scaffolds
  • The safe and correct method of erecting and dismantling staircases and ramps.
  • The safe and correct method of erecting and dismantling Aluminium towers.
  • How to interpret scaffolding drawings and specifications for scaffold structures
  • The regulations governing the inspection of advanced structures.
  • Knowledge How to organise men and materials to lead a gang of Scaffolders carrying out Advanced Scaffolding operations.

Qualifications and Experience
Must haves;

  • Tube & Fitting
  • Part 1/Part 2 Scaffold training
  • NVQ Level 2 Scaffolding
  • CISRS Basic Scaffolder card holder
  • Health & Safety tested
  • CISRS Operative tested (COTS)
  • OPITO MIST / BOSIET. FOET In date offshore certs
Desirable;

  • Layher/Cuplock/Haki/Plettac system scaffold trained
