Senior Finance & Policy Officer

Location Openshaw


Hours Permanent,37.5 hours per week


Salary £30,986.00

2 yearly salary increments

27 days annual leave, rising to 30 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years, plus bank holidays

Bridge College is the Together Trust's specialist education college for students aged 16-25 years with disabilities, complex needs, and autism.


We're now seeking a
Senior Finance & Policy Officer to support the growth and development of the College's menu of services to meet and develop challenging income streams and student targets.


You will develop, implement, monitor, and review the Colleges budgeting, financial management and cost, to ensure all financial information is managed, recorded, and reported accurately including internal money streams.

You will also coordinate service policy development and manage systems to ensure policies are reviewed and shared with staff and stakeholders.


About You

Education/Qualifications
A degree or relevant professional qualification in a financial/accountancy related field.


Experience


Extensive experience of financial management costing & auditing to include budget/cost centre management/statutory accounting/cost models, preferably within the Charity sector.

Experience of commissioning.

Experience of managing information systems (MIS).

Experience of policy development.


Knowledge
Knowledge of the funding and commissioning process for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

Knowledge of budgets and the need to provide an effective audit process.

Knowledge of financial costing principals and development of appropriate cost models.


Skills
Be commercially aware.

Good influencing and negotiation skills.

Drive, energy, ambition, and integrity.

The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

The ability to write and provide succinct reports including funding bids.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
