Ground Worker Required

Salary:
£ £12.80 per hour


Shifts:
Monday to Friday

Temporary contract with possibility going permanent to the right person.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Undertake routine preparation and maintenance work on a range of sports facilities and surfaces as detailed on work schedules
  • Drive and move vehicles and equipment as required for grounds maintenance operations including growing lamps, tractors, grass cutting machines etc
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment used by self and work group are regularly maintained in accordance with routine operating requirements
  • Ensure the safe use of machinery and report asap
  • Promote health and safety to self and others, ensuring work area is kept clean, tidy, and secure at all times, responding appropriately to emergency situation
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues, and end users
  • Make recommendations to Deputy Groundsman and Head Groundsman regarding the improvement of current systems of work, labour and machinery utilization
  • Undertakes other such duties which arise with familiarity and development of the jobs
  • Must be willing to work unsociable hours and be willing to work in sometimes adverse weather conditions

Skills and Experience:


  • Experience working within a similar role or environment
  • At least level 2+ qualifications in a relevant field of study
  • NVQ, SVQ or Work Place Diploma
  • Level 2 GMA Technical Certificate in Turf Surface Maintenance
  • Clear understanding of the relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Hold either PA1, PA2 or PA6 Qualification
  • Desirable
  • Previous experience with football pitches
  • Desirable
