We have an exciting opportunity to join our Learning Academy as part of our PLC. This role will be based at our site in Dalton, Thirsk.


The main purpose of this role is to deliver a high standard of technical training to upskill our people on SHE and operational responsibilities, to enable them to meet the requirements of their roles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Technical training including plant & equipment courses across the group to achieve high standards
  • Create and update current training courses ensuring they meet the relevant criteria.
  • Update & maintain accurate training records on the LMS
  • Deliver high standards of face to face training
  • To evaluate and act on feedback from courses delivered.
  • To keep up to date with their Instructor qualifications / accreditations so they can deliver a range of technical courses

Key Skills:

  • Be flexible and willing to travel to sites across the UK (and potentially Europe)
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to deliver memorable and informative training courses to a range of people.
  • Be able to prioritise and organise work efficiently.
  • Ability to work on IT systems and MS office packages.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Hold a Health & Safety qualification, preferably NEBOSH.
  • Hold a teaching and or training qualification i.e. PTLLS/AET.
  • Hold an Assessor or Internal Quality Assurer qualification either one of these essential
  • D A1/V
  • TAQA.


  • Be RTITB

  • Essential
  • Hold current CSCS/CPCS
  • IPAF/plant instructor (Desirable)

The Hours of work are:
Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:15pm (with a 30 minute unpaid break) & Friday 8:30am - 3pm (with a 30 minutes unpaid break)
