Background
The University of Birmingham's heritage as Britain's first civic university is combined with a compelling and ambitious global agenda.

Ranked in the top 100 universities globally, Birmingham is a member of the Russell Group and a founding member of the Universitas 21 global network of research universities.

Ten of our alumni and staff have been recognised with Nobel Prizes, and many others are recipients of the most prestigious awards in their fields.

The quality of our research has grown significantly, as demonstrated in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework results, where we ranked 10th in the Russell Group and 13th in the UK for Grade Point Average, having enjoyed the biggest rise of any institution in the Russell Group.

Our heritage as the original 'redbrick' is combined with an ambitious agenda to continue the transformation of the University.

The University of Birmingham in collaboration with Huazhong University of Science and Technology has developed a dual degree programme that will teach Biomedical Sciences.

The School of Biomedical Sciences is located within the College of Medical and Dental Sciences (MDS) at UoB.

We are home to the highly successful BSc and MSci Biomedical Science programmes delivered on our Edgbaston campus in the UK and also at our University of Birmingham Dubai campus.

The College of Medical and Dental Sciences at UoB has a strong partnership with Tongji Medical College (TJMC) at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST; 华中科技大学), China.

Together with colleagues at HUST we have developed a new 4-year joint educational programme (JEP) with graduating students being awarded dual degrees (BSc Biomedical Science from UoB and Pharmacy degree from TJMC).

The JEP will be delivered in its entirety in China, will be taught in English and is due to commence in August 2024.

Interviews for this post will be conducted remotely and are anticipated to take place on Tuesday 26 th March and Thursday 28 th March 2024.
