Job Title:
Database Administrator (Hybrid role)

CXC Global are working with one of the worlds leading Aviation manufacturers searching for a database administrator on a 6 month contract.

The current work location is either Milton Keynes or Bristol with hybrid options.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly flexible and motivated senior-level Database Administrator for the programs DBA team, building, supporting, and evolving Database platforms within a wide range of MOD and Government based programs.

Provide technical expertise in a variety of technologies to a multi-site program team.

The job holder must not be constrained by a rigid job specification and be willing to pick up additional duties as necessary.

They must be enthusiastic and "hands on" in their approach and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

They must be comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels within the organization and be confident representing BDUK and teaming with the MOD and government partners.

My client are looking to hire a highly flexible and motivated DBA for the programs Core Database Production Operations Team, building, supporting, and evolving database environments.

This is a role providing expertise in database administration to a multi-site program team.

Essential:

2 years hands on experience in DBA technical role
The DBA has indepth experience in more than one database stack.
Experience and exposure to SQL Server, Oracle (12c onwards) and PostgreSQL.
Knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows operating system internals including familiarity with shell scripting is required.
Knowledge of database Backup/Recovery techniques including database clustering techniques on varied database technologies.

Desirable:

Knowledge of IBM and Oracle Middleware platforms.
Knowledge of working within the Defence sector would be a significant advantage.
Experience of working within a matrix management environment and a largescale, complex international organization, but also within small teams, would be advantageous.
Automation and Devops experience.
