Our client, a leading global Food manufacturing business has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to be responsible for implementing and delivering procurement strategies across key spend areas and ensuring total cost-effective purchasing.

Key responsibilities:

Develop sourcing and category plans which deliver cost leadership, innovation, process, and product improvement.
Ensuring continuous supply of raw materials and the delivery of procurement projects in a timely manner.
Negotiate and manage purchasing contracts including payment terms.
Monitor and review supplier performance and develop continuous improvement plans to ensure quality and service expectations are met and exceeded.
Be the first point of escalation for Raw Material supply issues and to liaise with suppliers, find alternative materials to meet customers' requirements
A degree in Food Science, Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce or equivalent
At least 2 to 3 year's Buying, Purchasing or Procurement experience within a Food manufacturing environment
Strategic sourcing experience
Ability to negotiate and engage effectively with suppliers

Salary will be circa £35K to £45K + Benefits

25 leave days + 8 bank holidays

Hybrid remote working option, travelling to the Bedfordshire office 3 days a week
