Main purpose of the job:
To provide expert knowledge and skills in the care of haematology patients. This is an existing post to replace a retiring colleague. An interest in haematological malignancies is essential and sub-speciality interest in management of lymphoma patients is desirable.

(Primarily based at Royal Oldham Hospital, with possibility of some activity at other sites)


The post holder will:


  • Provide Consultant Haematologist duties including outpatient and inpatient care, advice and guidance to other professionals and an oncall commitment.
  • Share responsibility for the daytoday management of the Haematology Department.
  • Ensure maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of haematology patients.
  • Assist in teaching, training and supervision of junior staff and medical students where applicable.
  • Actively participate in both Departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit.
