Main purpose of the job:
To provide expert knowledge and skills in the care of haematology patients. This is an existing post to replace a retiring colleague. An interest in haematological malignancies is essential and sub-speciality interest in management of lymphoma patients is desirable.

(Primarily based at Royal Oldham Hospital, with possibility of some activity at other sites)

The post holder will:

Provide Consultant Haematologist duties including outpatient and inpatient care, advice and guidance to other professionals and an oncall commitment.
Share responsibility for the daytoday management of the Haematology Department.
Ensure maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of haematology patients.
Assist in teaching, training and supervision of junior staff and medical students where applicable.
Actively participate in both Departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit.
