A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Learning and Development team.

We are seeking a Learning & Development Advisor to lead and refresh our mandatory and statutory training (MAST) and corporate induction programmes.

You will be responsible for planning, managing, promoting and evaluating our Induction and MAST programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity to use your analytical, facilitation and people skills to meet Trust objectives.

The post holder will also provide advice, guidance and support to staff and managers, ensuring the appropriate commissioning of courses and effective operation of our learning management system (LMS) to increase statutory and mandatory compliance.


  • Lead on the Trust's statutory and mandatory training provision, ensuring that the delivery of this training is well managed, efficient and the Trust meets the required level of compliance
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Trust achieves its compliance levels through ensuring that programmes of statutory and mandatory training is delivered across the Trust, in addition to L&D processes
  • To line manage the induction coordinator and L&D administrator(s) and ensure that the Trust is provided with a timely, accurate and professional learning and development service in relation to MAST and other compliance KPIs
  • The post holder is responsible for preparing and reporting accurate data to enable statutory and mandatory, appraisals and other staff development key performance indicators are met
  • To manage and maximise the functionality of our LMS 'Learn' and be the system expert
  • Put in place measures to embed a blended learning approach to all learning and development activities
Your work will directly impact how care is delivered and how staff are developed and valued at Moorfields. You'll work in an environment that is research and technology driven where learning and education underpins excellent clinical care.

You'll be leading a team of dedicated professionals to develop and deliver outstanding learning and development solutions to the 2000 staff across our networked sites.

You have the chance to create, shape and develop an effective, responsive L&D department including people, tools, metrics and infrastructure.


You'll have significant experience in learning and development with a demonstrable track record and proven success in establishing new learning and development programmes enhanced by technology.

You'll have experience of stakeholder management and working credibly with senior leaders. You'll have at least an undergraduate degree and preferably additional qualifications in a relevant area


PROBATIONARY PERIOD


During the probationary period, your suitability for continued employment will be assessed and provided a satisfactory standard is achieved and maintained, your employment will be confirmed.

The probationary period may be extended, or your employment terminated either during or at the end of probation, in line with the trust Probationary Policy.

For the duration of the probation period, the notice period will be in line with contractual obligations on either side.
