Job Title:
Children's Residential Support Worker - Be a Hero for Kids

Join our expanding dedicated team, as we continue to provide exceptional care across all our homes and make a lasting impact on the lives of children.


Job Type:
Full-Time


Contract Type:
Permanent


Hours: 40 hours per week


Location:
Tadley


Shift Pattern: 7am - 3pm, 2pm - 10pm or 7am - 10pm plus a minimum of 1 sleep in per week is required

Salary:
£22,000 plus sleep ins paid at £45.00 per sleep in on weekdays and £50 per sleep in at weekends (Saturday and Sunday only)

Job Details:


The Therapeutic Practitioner will act as a positive role model for the children within Amegreen Children's Services, offering care and support based on structure, consistency, and nurturing as part of day-to-day living, always ensuring the safety of each child.


_Responsibilities include:
_


  • Being intuitive to children's needs, both physical and emotional
  • Being alert to any indication of stress or abuse and reporting accordingly
  • Promoting good personal hygiene among all children
  • Communicating with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers
  • Facilitating family contact when appropriate
  • Listening to, guiding, and advising children sensitively, offering comfort during challengingtimes and sharing their joy when appropriate
  • Being aware of Child Protection issues, guidelines, and procedures
  • Carrying out administrative duties and maintaining accurate records and reports

Skills and requirements for this Job:

  • NVQ Level 3 Children and young people
  • NVQ Level 3 Residential Childcare
  • NVQ Level 3 Children, young people, and family practitioner
  • Degree in Psychology

  • Ability to manage personal/professional boundaries
  • Ability to engage in a variety of activities to develop and sustain appropriate relationships with the children
  • Personal authority
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability and preparedness to recognize and deal appropriately with conflict, and to receive and give constructive feedback

  • Ability to work autonomously within the role's boundaries and organisational structure
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and attend residential holidays with the children during school holidays

  • Hold a current driving licence and willingness to drive using the company car as part ofthe job
  • Experience in residential care work
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Awareness of current childcare legislation
  • Understanding of social disadvantage and discrimination
  • Ability to assume responsibility for the operation of the home(s) when acting as shift leader (after probation*)
