The Early Years Service is seeking three early years teachers with leadership experience to join the Quality Improvement Team as Early Years Consultants.


3 x part time (0.6) permanent

roles based in the North, East/Central or South area of Bristol


You will lead an area-based team of Lead Teachers and together provide professional support and challenge to secure effective delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements in order to improve the quality of provision in all EYFS settings including Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) settings, Local Authority Children's Centres, Nursery Schools, EYFS classes in primary schools and Childminder settings.


A key aspect of the role is to work in partnership with other Early Years colleagues in the sector to improve outcomes for all, and to close the attainment gap for underachieving groups.


You will need to have strong Early Years expertise and experience and excellent communication skills to engage, motivate and inspire early years providers and to contribute to the strategic development of early years in the city.


You will have experience of leading teams and to leading on workstreams in relation to early years priorities and will demonstrate a flexible and responsive approach.

The three consultant roles will each include leading strategy in relation to a specialism. The specialisms currently needed are;

  • Assessment and Transition
  • EYFS provision in Schools
  • Equalities and Inclusion
