Salary:

  • Hours per week: 37 hours per week.
  • Hours: Mon to Thurs 8am to 4.30pm and 8am to 1pm Fridays.
  • Duration: contract 6 months
  • Start date: immediate.
  • Client Summary:
  • Leading manufacturer and frontline supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment.
  • The role:
  • To observe, learn and perform tasks related to all Supply Chain & Purchasing Disciplines,


  • This will include.

  • Overall Supply Chain & Purchasing Processes.
  • Excel MRP.
  • Stock Management & Stores.
  • Material Planning / Expediting.
  • Direct Materials Purchasing.
  • Indirect Purchasing.
  • Transport.
  • Supplier Strategy Terms and Conditions of Contract.
  • Supplier Relationships.
  • Generating Savings.
  • Supply Chain input into Bids.

Key responsibilities:

  • Stock Management & Stores.
  • Material Planning / Expediting.
  • Materials Purchasing.
  • Indirect Purchasing.


  • Transport

  • To understand the various customers and delivery requirements and associated processes.
  • Supplier Strategy.
  • Supplier Relationships o to understand why supplier relationships are important and what good looks like.
  • Generating Savings and to understand the various savings levers and why savings are important.
  • Supply Chain Input into Bids
  • Meet with the sales team and understand processes.
  • Inventory experience
  • Raising purchase orders experience.
- stock control experience.

  • Knowledge of expediating.
  • Experience of managing transport would be a bonus.
