Location:
Birmingham, West Midlands with hybrid working available

Contract:
Permanent, Fulltime

Salary:
Up to £35k + Benefits

Responsibilities

As a Highways Route Steward you will provide a local resource who will work closely with Council Members, employees, local communities and Parish/Town Councils, to improve communications, identify and carry out small scale repairs and generally help restore a degree of pride in the local highways network.

Your day to day will include:

Line management including planning and allocating works for each Highways Safety Inspector operating in your area and in other areas where appropriate, including inspection routes and enquiries.
Undertake quality audits monthly for each of the Highway Safety Inspectors in your area and other areas as appropriate, record and feedback findings.
Liaise with respective Business Improvement Districts as required.
Liaise with Inspectors and engineering staff to ensure larger works are identified, planned and programmed to meet the needs of local communities where funding allows.
Provide an important link between local communities and Kier in helping identify problems on the highways network. Some out of hours working will be required to occasionally support Highways staff at evening meetings e.g. Neighbourhood forums and Parish Council.

What are we looking for?
This role of Highways Route Steward is great if you have:

Literacy and Computer skills in order to keep accurate records, proficient in use of MS Office.
Good communicator with a desire to work with local communities to restore pride in their local highway network.
Full UK driving licence
