Description
The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Nurse Consultant, Team Leaders and clinical nurse specialists (CNS).

They will support the Consultant nurse and CNS's with the coordination of training events and will be expected to communicate with both NHS and non-NHS staff and travel to meeting and events across Lancashire.

Additionally the post holder will provide administrative support to Lancashire Sexual Health service.

With appropriate training to assist the Nurse Consultant with clinical coding audits that directly relate to the income of the service.


An opportunity has arisen for an Training Coordinator/Admin Support Officer to join the Sexual Health Services Team based at Whitegate Health Centre.

This post requires an individual with evidence of experience of vast administration skills.

This post offers the successful applicant an ideal opportunity to play an active part as a team member in providing admin support for a busy Sexual Health Service.


The post holder will act as the first point of contact for Nurse consultant and Lead Nurse's taking enquires from internal and external colleagues and assist current training and administration team in daily duties.

Sexual Health Services including Connect Young Persons Centre are going through an exciting period of re-structure across Lancashire services. This post offers the successful applicant an ideal opportunity to be involved in the future development.

Well-developed communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team are vital requirements for this post. Due to the specialist nature of this service, an open, non-judgemental and positive attitude is necessary.

  • To prioritise own workload as appropriate ensuring that urgent tasks are completed promptly and to ensure the needs of the service are met.
  • To coordinate training sessions provided by the Senior Colleagues i.e. design and send out flyers/invitations, book rooms, arrange refreshments, photocopy and collate training packs.
  • Plan register and arrange in house and National training sessions provided by Sexual Health Consultants, Doctors and Nurses.
  • Arrange and ensure all pre checks are completed prior to attendees been allocated clinical training sessions.
  • Complete purchase orders on trust ordering system and ensuring invoices are raised and organise payment for events.
  • Attend training events providing administration support for course facilitator's
  • To provide administrative assistance in the coordination of maintaining and developing the training and competency records for Sexual Health Lancashire nursing team.
  • Act as first point of contact for Clinical Nurse Specialists across Lancashire Sexual Health, dealing with enquiries and directing to appropriate team member.
  • Arrange meetings for the Nurse Consultant and Locality leads. With support to prepare and circulate agendas prior to meetings. To provide minute taking, ensure all actions are completed and minutes are circulated in a timely manner.
  • To produce accurate quality typewritten work via shorthand/dictation, audio or copy typing.
  • Manage electronic diaries arranging meetings, events and 1:
  • Manage and correct business exception errors on Econtraception data base
  • Assist department Health Advisors with Patient recall system
  • Administrative organisation of events for Sexual Health Services including invitations, resource booking, required materials, ensuring invoices are raised and payment received Sexually Transmitted Infection Foundation Course (STIF)
  • To support daily overflow of administration duties from Administration Manager, department secretaries and senior receptionist.
  • To provide cross cover for administration staff in times of sickness and annual leave and in exceptional circumstances for example high sickness absence provide cross cover for reception.
  • To be aware of the workload and pressures and provide support to other members of the administrative team.
  • Assist in the collection of data for audits.
