We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, enthusiastic, and responsible Health Visitors SCPHN (various hours available) to work within our Growing Healthy 0-19 Service in Gateshead.
We are a skill mixed team, with two teams working across Gateshead.We are enthusiastic and forward-thinking with an outstanding performance record in caring for children and young people living in Gateshead.
We work in partnership with Midwives, Early Help, Children's Services, Public Health and Acute Services.We have a hybrid approach to working giving you the practitioner autonomous flexibility.
There is a large open plan office within the Civic Centre in Gateshead with an onsite admin and management team.
The team pride themselves on their kindness and approach to team working and any new members of the team will receive the customary Gateshead warm welcomeNew team members are supported through induction, training, shadowing and a preceptorship package tailored to your individual needs.
4-6 weekly supervision with Line Manager and Safeguarding Team
Monthly Preceptorship/ Peer Supervision
Appraisal in the first 3 months of the role and then annually

The Health Visiting role is to deliver the Healthy Child Programme as part of a one team approach, planning, delivering and evaluating an efficient and cost effective service for an identified population, you will be delivering the National and Local Public Health agendas in response to identified health and social need working with partner agencies in a strategic, creative and holistic way to ensure best outcomes for children, young people and families
The Health Visitor will:
Deliver a commissioned service utilising specialist skills and knowledge to assess the needs of clients and their families and communities.
Work as an autonomous practitioner, assuming professional and legal accountability for all aspects of their own work in line with HDFT's objectives and national and local guidance.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to deliver under pressure and able to work in a rapidly changing environment.
