Job overview:


In line with the introduction of the new medical role of Specialist within the organisation, we are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to fill role within Gastroenterology. The successful applicant will support the delivery of core services within Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, delivering independent clinical practice including clinics and Endoscopy lists amongst other commitments. These roles will present a progression opportunity for highly experienced specialty doctors and will form a central part of the Gastroenterology service at Salford Care Organisation.

Main duties of the job:

The post offers a 10 PA job plan at the Specialist grade, based at Salford Care Organisation. The post-holder will be entitled to patient administrative time and core SPA within their job plan.

The job plan will be agreed with the successful post holder and will be in line with BMA guidelines in relation to the Specialist contract.

  • GMC Registration
  • MRCP, FRCS, etc in relevant specialty

Experience:


Essential criteria:


  • Minimum 12 yrs since obtaining primary medical qualification, of which at least 6 years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades years
  • Specialtyspecific competencies demonstrated
  • Experience of working as an autonomous / independent practitioner
  • Able to reflect on own competence and understands own limits, seeking help when required
  • Able to communicate well verbally and in written form
  • Fully trained endoscopist
