what you'll be doing

  • Overseeing two multidisciplinary tribes consisting of several squads alongside heads of product, heads of engineering and delivery leads. Collaborating on the strategic direction for the tribes and defining success measurements.
  • You will interact frequently with product management, engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders during discovery, design, and development.
  • Responsibility of setting personal and developmental objectives that support the overarching goals and objectives of the company for your team.
  • Identifying new opportunities and guiding quarterly roadmaps. Influencing the tribes vision, mission and north star while making design's impact visible across the organisation.
  • Leading the strategic and iterative improvement of our digital products and services.
  • Leading qualitative research initiatives to uncover insights and customer needs to drive better more informed decision making. Effectively managing the UX Research resource, pipeline of research briefs, research committee and ensuring high quality playbacks to stakeholders. You will also be resonsible for supporting efforts to build a VoC programme working closely with our CX and Marketing teams, utlising our existing customer feedback tools.
  • Own and maintain best practice across the tribes by championing usercentred design and contribute to the wider business impact.
  • You will have full resonbility for all UX Design, Content Design, Service Design and UX Research activities and outputs within your tribes. Ensuring that high standards of quality are maintained across all disciplines in design and research by establishing and communicating clear expectations, providing feedback and training, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Effectively manage all design and research resources, identifying best placement of resources to attain the most value out of the role. Also identifying gaps in resource to help plan and budget for future recruitment needs.
  • Repsonibility for managing the operational budget across your tribes, inlcuding but not limited to headcount, tools, suppliers, agencies and participant incentives for research activitives.
  • Responsibility for the design system, actively promote its use throughout the design team and the wider organisation, educating on the benefits of using the design system and how to effectively use its components.
  • Ensure adherence to design best practices, standards and brand consistency. Building strong relationships and working in close collaboration with our Marketing and Brand team.
  • Take charge of leading and advancing DesignOps practices that cater to the current and future needs of the team, and work to ensure that the team is fully equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and training. This also includes supporting the development of a career progression framework for the team.
  • Helping to grow the design practice at cinch. Championing our UXD community of practice, design system, accessibility guild, mentoring, and more.

things we look for in you

  • You're a leader with at least 10 years of UX design experience (or equivalent) under your belt, with 4 years of those leading designers. You've driven the vision and roadmaps for complex realworld products and have several great success stories.
  • You're a fantastic communicator and your negotiation skills influence decisions across the business. You're an advocate for UX and you are invested in design success.
  • You have a track record of coordinating and collaborating across design leadership, taking respo nsibility for product quality and requirements, while ensuring multiple disciplines are achieving great outcomes together.
  • You're a talented mentor and manager, you're approachable with a strong drive to share best practices, while also remaining humble and willing to learn from those around you.
  • You have a pragmatic approach to the design process. You know when to pursue a diligent v.s. lean approach to balance risk and opportunity. You drive product vision, assess long term needs and include the right people at the right time.
  • You have the ability to lead complex design topics, scaling your presence from clearly communicating a design vision to addressing project or organisational issues
