Mechanical Engineer, Witney, up to £40,000pa plus bonus and benefits:
MARS Recruitment is proud to be exclusively partnered with a market leading manufacturer based in the Witney area.

This company are in an exciting period of growth and are looking to restructure their engineering department and are looking for a dynamicand motivated Mechanical Engineer to join their talented team.


The Role:

The Mechanical Engineer is part of the Director of R&D's team. This team is responsible for, R&D and Engineering across the business.


The Mechanical Engineer together with the Senior Engineering Manager will ensure that the mechanical engineering functions are carried out and managed in compliance with all relevant standards, including UL, CSA, CCC, CE, ISO etc.


About you:

The successful Mechanical Engineer will need to be a passionate self-starter.

You will also have a combination of the following accountabilities, knowledge, experience and skills:


Accountabilities

  • Design generation of solid models and engineering drawings from lineup information supplied internally, external or by personal experience and knowledge.
  • Providing clear and concise drawings for the manufacture of components, product assembly, labelling and support / service documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Electro Mechanical products.
  • Produce simple in house prototypes for evaluation, involving the activities of Milling, Turning and Sheet metal.
  • Construction of bills of material.
  • Generation of, and adherence to, working instructions and procedures in accordance with the Company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance policy.
  • Liaison with colleagues, customers, collaborators and suppliers (locally and offshore) as necessary.
  • Assist in identifying new component suppliers and subcontractors where appropriate.
  • Supplying engineering drawings and models to customers and collaborators in the relevant format in a concise and timely manner.
  • Participation in technical design reviews.
  • Where necessary, contribute to production and development cost buildup models.
  • Project management as and when required.
  • Carry out customer returns analysis for mechanical issues

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of component manufacturing and finishing processes and associated tooling requirements, such as Plastic Moulding, Die Castings, Extrusions Metal & Plastic, Sheet Metal.
  • Working knowledge of Electro Mechanical products.
  • Experience in the design of Hand Dryer and Infrared sensors is desirable
  • CorelDRAW, Autodesk Inventor Suite, SAP, and Microsoft Office software.

Experience

  • Mechanical engineering experience in an engineering and production environment.
  • Experience working with midhigh volume products
  • Working in a team
  • Producing technical reports
  • Experience of working with Far East cultures (desirable).

Skills

  • Systematic, pragmatic approach to problem resolution
  • Good knowledge of CorelDRAW, Autodesk Inventor Suite, SAP
  • Good communication, presentation, and reporting skills
  • Good project management and organisational skills


Our client is offering an excellent salary, up to £40,000pa, plus a yearly bonus, pension, flexible working, and an early finish Friday.

This role would really suit someone who has 2-3 years' experience in mechanical engineering and wants to take their careerto the next step.
