A vacancy has arisen for a permanent post of 15 hours per week.
The post holder's hours will have no fixed weekly work pattern and required working hours will be provided to the post holder a minimum of two weeks prior to pattern start date.
The patterns will include early, day, late and night shifts. This will also include bank holidays.We are seeking a telephonist to join our 24/7 Switchboard in operating a modern telephone system.
You will join our enthusiastic and friendly team of telephonist's to assist in the smooth running of the Aintree Hospitals Trust & Walton Centre Foundation Trust's 24/7 Switchboard providing a high quality and responsive Telecommunications service for patients, customers and staff.
Flexibility is essential as you will also be required to cover the absence of colleagues both during planned and unplanned leave.
The Telecommunications department provides full and extensive training and your work will be supervised until your competencies are completed.
To answer and extend all calls for 2 hospitals via the main Switchboard BTS system.
Respond to emergency calls, sending out the appropriate emergency teams.
Operate the paging system sending voice and data messages.
Maintain the paging system and associated pagers.
Deal with Patient Enquiry calls.
Report all faults to the appropriate service providers.
To assist and co-operate with training of new staff.
Maintain on call rotas for hospital staff from various directorates and departments.

Job Summary
To act as the first point of contact for Trust enquiries through the provision of a telephony service.
To respond the Trust emergencies through the service and action accordingly
Key responsibilities
Emergencies:
Respond to all emergency calls and keeping associated records. Initiating emergency teams via bleep voice calls
Maintain operator directory
To answer and extend all calls on the main and emergency telephone
systems and to answer enquiries from callers
Paging Systems:
To operate and monitor the internal paging system and to initiate both internal
and external paging calls
maintain pagers as necessary
keep associated records.
Fault 'reporting.
Training
To assist and co-operate with the Deputy Switchboard Services Manager as
necessary to ensure the adequate training of new staff.
Rotas
Ensure Daily on-call rotas of Medical staff and other staff is maintained

departments.
