We are currently looking for a Laser Packer to join our

Production

Department in

Atherstone

Overall Mission
The Atherstone plant is part of a multi-site international group.

The Manufacturing process is complex using high-value capital equipment and it involves a mix of mechanical, electrical and process engineering technologies.

The Site is growing and investing in new technology.

Key Job Responsibilities

START OF SHIFT

  • Calibrate Scales in line with instruction sheet & sign off sheet
  • Quality check correct material, packaging, configuration
  • Quality check correct material, packaging, configuration
  • AMIS open report
***EVERY HOUR

  • Calibrate Scales in line instruction sheet & sign off sheet; complete more frequently if required
  • Check product against templates to ensure correct size, shape & holes in correct place

THROUGHOUT SHIFT

  • Amis book downtime EVERYTIME machine STOPS accurate to the minute
  • Amis book pallets
  • Amis close completed orders, start new orders
  • Quality complete 1 st & last pallet/order checks, sign of sheet & sticker
  • Quality check to make sure that the pips are being removed by the vacuum extraction after station
  • Robots ensure that the robot feet are cleaned regularly when the parts start sticking to them and not stacking properly
  • Assist operator with labeling when required
  • Quality complete visual checks if unsure check visual standards folder &/or ask operator
  • Quality checks complete EVERYTIME new jumbo loaded, check correct size, shape & holes
  • Assist operator to load/unload jumbos (ACT6 loading jumbo is 2person operation)
  • Undertake housekeeping roles
  • Assist operator when required
  • Pack all finished goods in accordance with requirements
  • Clean machines following procedure to standard in photos, report any damage found

END OF SHIFT

  • Clean machine following process to high standard including pip bins
  • Empty vacuum cleaners following procedure
  • Tidy packing station and area around machine including inside bottom of machine
  • AMIS reporting book out produced pallet, record all downtime (including end of shift clean), close order

GENERAL

  • Work fully in accordance with all local area and plant safety rules, risk assessments and HazCards including correct PPE / RPE etc. as required when performing duties
  • Communicate proactively with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with mínimal wasted time and materials
  • To participate in improvement or problemsolving teams
  • Communicate the results of assigned tasks through work order and shift hand over reporting.

Knowledge and Skills
The applicant will have the following Essential Skills

  • Good basic understanding of PC software and able to interpret, record and report information accurately
  • Good knowledge of working and ability to work in a fastpaced, dynamic, changing environment, follow standard work in a continuous improvement environment
  • Ability to follow process and product standards and technical instructions to allow for product and process experimentation including noting results where required
  • Must be able to liaise with support teams to help problem solve product, process and machine issues.
  • Good attention to detail
  • Be able to work as part of a team; we are looking for a confident individual with good communication skills and good attention to detail
  • Possess good physical stamina, ability to climb steps and undertake manual handling activities
  • Ability to maintain concentration levels during routine activities
  • Good levels of hygiene
  • Able to multitask as required
  • Good time keeping and ability to be flexible and work shifts including weekends where required
The following skills are Desirable

  • A working knowledge of SAP
