We have a great opportunity for an experienced and passionate Safeguarding Officer to join our academy to lead on safeguarding across the academy.

The Safeguarding Officer will work closely with the academy's designated safeguarding lead and safeguarding team, as well as all academy staff, to ensure the effective implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures across the academy.

You will provide advice, guidance and support for pupils and staff whilst working with the pastoral teams to plan and implement interventions and support where appropriate.

You will also need to keep up to date with your own personal development within the safeguarding sphere so that you are confident and able to deliver safeguarding training to academy staff.

To be successful for this role you will need to have significant experience and training in leading safeguarding within an educational setting.

Safeguarding management training and experience within social care, targeted youth and wider inclusion would also be desirable.

About Us

The City of Peterborough Academy was opened in September 2013 by Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) after a £13.8m capital build.

Based on Reeves Way in Peterborough, the academy has quickly grown from strength to strength. A dedicated team of staff aim to help support every child in reaching their full potential.

Additionally, we have been described as a truly 'inclusive school' at our recent National Inclusion Quality Mark inspection and have also been awarded 'Centre of Excellence Status'.

We were also 'runners up' at the 2020 National SEN awards for National Most Inclusive Practice.

Both our Academy and Greenwood Academies Trust are committed to supporting pupils and staff alike.

Providing pupils with the highest-quality education is of the utmost importance but we recognise that in order to achieve this, teachers and staff must be properly supported with strong leadership, a climate of trust, research and innovation, and ongoing CPD opportunities.
