We are currently looking for an experienced Driller to join our Explosives Engineering team in Carnforth, to cover quarries throughout the North of England.

There will be a requirement for regular travel between sites which may require overnight stays.


Your mission

Your key activities will include:


  • Carry out a point of work risk assessments.
  • Drill holes to specification and operational requirements.
  • Unload and load mobile plant and equipment for transportation.
  • Provide clear and concise records in a timeous fashion.
  • Use of technologies to support drilling operations.
  • Plan weekly work programme in collaboration with Supervisor.
  • Carry out routine maintenance of drilling equipment.
  • Reporting all faults to your supervisor and the plant department.
  • Maintain personal diary/CPD record/CV to sustain career development.
  • Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards.
  • Support, mentor and develop others.

Who are we looking for?

The following are mandatory requirements for the role:

  • An NVQ / QCF Level 2 in Drilling Operations.
  • Evidence of previous working knowledge of drilling operations.
  • Understanding clear drilling instructions.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

The following are desirable requirements:


  • MPQC Quarry Passport.
  • CSCS Card.
