_Risk Assurance Partner _

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented person to join the Conduct and Operational Risk team as a Risk Assurance Partner in the Conduct & Credit Risk function on a part-time permanent basis.

The role sits within the 1st line of defence and is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about making sure that our customers are getting good outcomes from the products and services that the Society provides.

About the role

This role is responsible for undertaking product and thematic assurance reviews in accordance with the team plan and under established risk frameworks, to ensure we are delivering good outcomes for our customers, we are meeting our regulatory responsibilities and we are acting within the Society's risk appetite.

The role will give you the opportunity to work collaboratively with different teams across the Commercial Division to discuss findings and agree actions to address any identified issues and will give you exposure to a range of key stakeholders.

Please note, this is a part time role 21 hours per week_

About you

Issues can arise from all over the business so strong stakeholder management and influencing skills are important as you will be engaging with colleagues up to Director level.

A large part of this role is looking at policies, processes, data and MI and analysing these to see if they are causing any problems for our customers.

Therefore, you need to have a curious mind, excellent attention to detail, and to be analytical and able to spot trends or patterns.

You will then use this data to create a written report with the aim of influencing stakeholders to improve customer outcomes where required and so strong written and verbal communication is important.

A good understanding of financial services products is needed together with an understanding of the regulatory environment in which YBS operates.

A keen interest in managing risks is required with an ability to work independently, under tight deadlines and make effective decisions, as well as being open to and able to offer up constructive feedback.
